Envirofone - Only If You Like A Gamble

Having recently taken delivery of a pebble, I packaged my almost mint SGS in too much bubble wrap and sent it off to Envirofone. I've used Mazuma before but Envirofone were offering slightly more.

They sent me an email. There was a problem. The back cover was damaged. They reduced the offer by £20. What had happened, I wondered.

I asked them to send it back. During it's return journey with Royal Mail, it healed itself, no damage. Once I had removed the gunk from the screen left by their label I repackaged it and sent it off to Mazuma. Lesson learned.

Looking on the internet I see I am not alone. People who KNEW their phone was in good order posting similar to my experience. How many people would simply accept it and take less for what 'could' be described as a scam, if anybody wanted to allege as much.

Just thought I'd pass on my experience for your consideration and I'm sure many on here will have used Envirofone without incident.

I was recommended to use Asda Tech Trade In by a friend. They offered me £10 more than Envirophone or Mazuma (£110 for my S1 at the beginning of June) and the whole experience went very smoothly. I had an email to say they had received it and were processing it, then two days later another email saying the cheque would be on it's way, which it then turned up a couple of days later

Have a look at ebay, to see if your old phone. It's bound to be there now

I had as perfect experience as is possible with Envirfone when selling my SG2 just before the S3 came out and the market was flooded with them. I registered online on Thursday - the offer was the same as I'd have got on Ebay after fees. Received the packaging on Friday. Posted on Saturday (added extra bubble wrap). I thought they would reduce the offer because it had a nick in the screen bezel, but by 11am Monday I had an email confirming they were paying the full amount. Money in my account on Wednesday. I don't know if I was lucky or you were unlucky.
