PSX4Droid games compatibility list

Hello everyone,,

with the release of the long awaited psx emulator on Android devices; the feeling of nostalgia have strucken the childhood (or whatever your age is ) memories of us gamers. Classics such as Final fantasy series, xeno gears series, castlevania series, crash bandicoot series, gran turismo series, the cross over between the two giants capcom and SNK, capcom and marvel, and don't forget the revolutionary game at its time metal gear solid have helped define how the gaming industry would go and how will it shape up.

fast forward 5 years and you get to play those revolutionary 'high-end' games on devices that are smaller than the palm of your hand ahh technology!

now I know most of you including me have rushed and downloaded those classics to relieve the experience but, what a shock! your favorite game is not running on the emulator or it is barely playable. so what to do? should you ignore the issue? should you report the issue to the developer?

well this is the purpose of this thread; it will deal with 3 issues:

1- games that are working smoothly on our devices
2- games that are working but have graphical or sound issues
3- games that are not working at all

The rules are simple, you have to list the games that you had tested with specifying the working condition mentioned above.

lets help the developer by listing all the games that have been tested on the emulator and also it will notify any user about the compatibility of their favorite games with the emulator

Hope that you like the thread and come on let us contribute in the development of this great software by saving the developer's time and testing the games by ourselves

ok guys since i'm the OP I think I should start first, I will list all the games that I've tested in three categories and they are:

Games that are working smoothly

Final Fantasies: Origins I + II, Tactics, 4, 5, 6
Final fantasy VII
crash bandicoot 1
crash bandicoot 2

Earth worm jim
Diablo
Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu
Resident Evil Directors Cut (NOTE: controls are reversed)
Ridge Racer Type 4
Alien Trilogy
Syndicate wars
Pocket Fighter
Guilty Gear
worms (The text in the menus is messed up so you can't read most of it but the game plays great)
Breathe of Fire 3 + 4
Gex 2 Enter the Gecko
Koudelka
The Legend of Dragoon
Klonoa - Door to Phantomile
Silent Hill

Games that are working but have graphical and sound issues

Final Fantasy 9 (working fine but there is some sound issues)
crash bandicoot 3
crash team racing (graphical glitches, sound disappearing)
tekken 3 (working but not playable, below 10 fps)
resident evil 3
gran turismo 2 (needs further testing)
Command and Conquer Red Alert and Red Alert retaliation (both working smoothly but there is some stuttering in videos)
Bushido Blade 1 & 2 (Graphical glitch: screen is crushed up)
Cardinal Syn - (Slow Down)
Destruction Derby Raw (Slow down)
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen (Sound Issue: music is repeating)
Disney's Hercules (works fine,but there is some sound issues)
Rayman 2 (playable but have some graphical issues)
Tomb Raider 3 (slowdowns, FPS below 20)
Dino Crisis 1 + 2 (Sound is awful but plays well without)
Oddworld Abe's Exodus and Odyssey (Graphical Issues)
Dragon Ball GT final bout (kinda slow)
Tony Hawks pro Skater (Graphical issues)
Resident Evil 2 (working fine, but it lags sometimes)
Soul Blade AKA soul edge (woks fine although the screen resolution is crushed, some slowdowns but it is worth downloading just for the opening intro itself )

Games that are not working at all

Metal Gear Solid (my favorite psx game)
Xeno Gears
Asteroids
Alundra
Army Men; Land, Sea and Air
3D lemmings
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
Road Rash
Space Invaders
Destruction Derby 2 (Locks up on the begining of a race)
Porsche Challenge
Broken Sword (Loads but many issues)
Ace Combat 3
parasite eve (Needs further testings)
parasite eve 2 (bummer as it was one of the best survival horror games on PSX)
Metal Slug X (it works but crashes after you select your character, needs further testings)
Valkyrie Profile (Freezes in beginning)






guys if you don't mind I will collect all of your findings and post it here to make things easier for users to search and find their preferred games. what do you think?

I only tried Crash Bandicoot 3 and Tekken 3 and then uninstalled as both games were pretty much unplayable. I see they're both in the graphics/sound issue category... So that explains it. I'm gonna give this emulator another try then, gonna download some games and try a few out. And I shall be back with some additions to the list.

Asteroids: Not working at all
3D Lemmings: Loads but then fails to play
Alundra: Not working at all
Army Men; Land, Sea and Air: Not working at all.
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX: Not working at all (Noticing a pattern here?! lol)
Diablo: Fully working!!
Final Fantasies: Origins I + II, Tactics, 4, 5, 6 and 7 all fully working Just downloading 9 now
Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu: Fully working
Resident Evil Directors Cut: Fully working although controls are reversed
Road Rash: Not working at all
Space Invaders: Not working at all
Xenogears: Not working at all

Working:
Metal Gear Slug X
Command and Conquer Red Alert and Red Alert retaliation work fine, however video stutters a bit. Otherwise all is good. Both disks.
Bushido Blade 1 & 2 however the screen is all crushed up.
