New Handset Restoring Info

Old handset stolen yesterday (rot in hell).
Firmware was updated to Gingerbread 2.3.6. New handset has ICS 4.0.
Last backup was obviously with 2.3.6 (two weeks ago, full backup carried out via Kies).
Question:
Will I be able to restore the data in the last backup successfully onto my new handset? OR will there be some sort of glitch with the ICS not recognising Gingerbread???

Should be fine as if you were to upgrade to ics from gingerbread using kies, kies would still offer to back up your details.

It won't do any damage but you might find some details don't sync correctly. I can't remember which ones now but there are some settings that don't restore properly.
