    Help in galaxy s3...

Hello guys.. First of all I'm so happy that I finally got my new phone SG3.
I have to admit that when I saw the offecial pictures for GS3 I hate the phone because I have GS1 and I've been waiting for GS3, but when my friend got it and I hold it, I fall in love with it

Anyways.. My first issue.. The screen is simply Amazing, but... When i decided to put a screen protector I felt its not amazing like the first time I tried it.
My questions is is it safe to use the phone without the screen protector??
I know its gorilla glass, but based on my experince with the galaxy S1 when I removed the screen protector, the screen scratched but it was minor scratch.
I really want to remove it from my new GS3 phone. Please I need your opinions guys.. Will it be risky without the screen protector???

Second issue is the Google Maps... I can see the maps and my distination but when I ask it to take me from my location to that location I choosed, it appears NO ROUTE FOUND???

Is that a common problem or am the only one who's getting this problem??

Oh, and btw I live in middle east (gulf).

    thanks,

I hated my screen protector when I first put it on but you do get used to it. I think its worth having just in case you do scratch it.
I have used navigation and was really happy with it. Very quickly took me to many destination. Did you try from Nav or maps?

Yes, there is a greater risk without a protector.

If you don't like the plastic feeling there are glass protectors being developed to fit the S3 such as the Spigen glas.t etc.

Personally, I don't use protection, preferring the natural feel.

I don't have an answer for the nav issue, it may be a limitation for your country. May be worth confirming Google have the nav feature where you live.
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

I myself wouldn't bother with a screen protector and didn't with the SGS1, screen was immaculate after 2 years. With the SGS 3 you will also be losing out on the smoothness of the screen.

Still yet to purchase my mobile sock and it's already a little too late, dropped it (about foot and a half) today landed on the glass side down. The only mark is on the silver bezel which marks black, very little scuff but still noticeable. Not particularly fussed as I've posted a disassembly guide (not watched) so it's probably pretty easy to replace the bezel.......just depends on whether you can buy the part you want for cheap and if you can fix it or not

I scratched my SG1 the first day i had it lol i was not happy as i had no idea how i did it , and have used screen protectors ever since.

Downside of the White Siii is i can now see the edge of the screen protector where its had my grubby mits on it. So i may remove it now i have my Flip cover , at least now from the back it looks like a Pebble Blue and the side flip protects the screen all be it some times gets in the way and i wonder how long it will last folding it behind.

You could phone Samsung or take it to a local shop and ask.

Check you have the correct "Region" set for your phone. It is usually set on initial boot when new or after a hard reset. Type *#1234# and check the CSC is correct for your location.

Nokia maps uses different data to Google Maps (I assume you used Nokia Maps on your N95). For a start, it's all downloaded onto your phone so you don't need internet access for it to work. Personally I much preferred Nokia Maps but sadly it doesn't work on Android

Just in case some people don't know - How to get offline Google maps on your Android phone right now

    In summary without the pics:

    1. Open Google Maps
    2. Go to Settings -> Labs
    3. Click on Pre-cache map area to activate it.
    4. Go to your desired place, tap and hold.
    5. Tap on the bubble that appears and select Pre-cache map area. Voila!
