Windows or Mac and XP or Windows 7?
XP usually works OK windows 7 is a problem.

Many on here will tell you not to use Kies, but what are you trying to do?

EDIT: Sorry, you mean Kies Air
    Try Airdroid app from Playstore

What do you want to do as there is an app in the Play Store to do most of what Kies does, and usually better.

The first problem usually with Kies is getting the drivers installed for your computer to recognise the phone.
You can install without Kies here: http://uploaded.to/file/xeczx9xt

Now you have the drivers, start Kies and connect your phone via USB lead provided.
If still no joy try putting your computer into XP mode?
