"Unfortunately bluetooth share has stopped" error while downloading contacts to car

    Hi,

I recently updated my GS2 i9100 from GB to ICS (4.03) as provided by my carrier (Bell). I am able to pair the phone and media audio with my car stereo (Hyundai Sonata) however I get the message "Unfortunately bluetooth share has stopped" every time it tries to download my contacts to the car. This appears after a minute or so.

This was not an issue with GB as it downloaded seamlessly and I was able to use the built in voice calling feature of my car with no problems.

The first time the download was tried, the phone rebooted. Since then I have removed the pairing from the phone and car and started over, as well as removed all synced accounts from my contacts except those actually on the phone. Still no luck.

I use this feature daily and will have to attempt a rollback to GB if I can't find a solution.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    JH

The reboot is possibly down to not carrying out a Factory Reset and Clear cache following the ICS install. Remnants of Gingerbread firmware can cause problems including force closing.

Regarding the bluetooth connection try this app from the Play Store:

Thanks for the suggestion greenman, unfortunately the message still appears every time the car stereo attempts to download the contacts.

I was able to make a phone call through the stereo via the GS2 Voice talk app, but I prefer to use the stereo as I simply have to push a button on the steering wheel. Not sure where to go from here...

@RichH - That was one of greenman's suggestions. Still didn't work for me though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a GS2 GT-i9100 that I purchased in Hong Kong. I updated to ICS 4.0.3 through Samsung Kies. The only problem I have is is the "Unfortunately bluetooth share has stopped" error while downloading contacts to car. Is there any way to contact Samsung about this?

    Hi.
Had exactly the same problem connecting via Bluetooth on my Navara.
Did below and it worked straight away.
    Settings> Applications> All> LogsProvider> Clear Data
    Give it a go.
    Cheers

    Hi mate!

I've GS2 I9100 and my car is a Honda Civic! I'd the same message when I tried synchronize my phone's calender with my radio (bluetooth system): "Unfortunately bluetooth share has stopped".

For to resolve my problem I did: phone->Contacts->Contacts to display-> phone.

The system doesn't work when phone's calender of the cellphone is selected by SIM!

    Regards,
