Security apps and settings

Now that I'm getting to grip a little more with my SGS II then the next stage is to look at security. On my old phone I had a pin code lock for when the phone was turned on. The nearest I've seen to that is the encrypt device option.
Has anyone any recommendations as to good practices for security on android phones, especially with the auto sync of some accounts needed for running which makes me want to lock the phone down tight should it get into undesirable hands.

You can PIN lock the screen, apps, SD card, apply encryption, in fact just about anything you like, esp if you are running ICS. Also check out Samsung Dive - It allows you to remotely wipe your device should you lose it.....
