Thanks a lot for that!!! I think there's a chance that might be what was happening! I went into settings and then > motion > motion activation was ticked, a few of the things like double tapping to activate Voice Talk were open, as well as panning etc.

    thanks Pitrack_1!!!!! Fingers crossed!!!!

The battery charging issue is usually due to a damaged or dirty charging port. Try cleaning the port with an old toothbrush to see if it helps. I also read that someone rubbed a pencil over the battery connections which helped. Has you phone got wet or was it in your pocket when you got caught out in a rainstorm? Sounds like many issues going on here not just one....

Battery charge indication, beeping, freezing, etc

    Glad to help

As for the charging when not plugged in, beeping, etc, sounds like you should have a look at this thread:
My Galaxy S2 has just started draining battery fast

and in particular at this post by Madddog1974

A google around may also help by the sounds of things.

This may be your issue with things. Have you perhaps damaged the bottom of the phone, got it dirty or had trouble with the connector? Sounds like it may be a not-so-strong point with SGSIIs.

    Cheers,

Ta Tufftoad, I'm just beginning to learn this stuff! If you've seen my other thread you'll realise I'm technical enough to do a partial hardware lobotomy to save the device but I still am looking up Android acronyms as I read them. Is there a canonical (There, showing my age!!!) thread which lists them somewhere?

I think this is the only thing going at the moment if I understood it right SGS Forum Dictionary

Thanks for all the help, to be honest Pitrack_1 what you mentioned is exactly what the probglem seems to be! It keeps lighting up and the Vlingo speech keeps running by itself as well as going into car kit mode, as well as not charging enough and then charging by itself!

So i'll give it a good clean after work! When you say clean the micro USB connector do ya mean the both sides - as in the charger and the actual connection slot in the phone, as well as the battery??? As I said...total novice at this technology buzz...but getting there!!!!

    Thanks for this!!!! Legends!

    Thanks for all the helo!!
