I think it's the number of the location, so if u added another location it would give that number 2. Haven't tried it yet but will give it a go and see if it's the case.

Its indicating that your time zone is GMT+1, ie BST hence the Sun for Summer Time....

It's annoying me too, just because it's so pointless and there's no way of turning it off. I know I could use a different widget, but other than that, I like this one.

On the subject of the weather widget. If anyone is having problems with the weather not updating on the lockscreen, by default the auto-refresh settings is set to none.
Go to Menu > Settings > Lock Screen Settings > Tap on the Weather field (not the toggle slide) > Auto-Refresh then select frequency.
No maximum temp is annoying, otherwise everything I need is there, S2 had it, why was it removed. Can I download S2 version somewhere?
The Galaxy S3 weather widget just displays current temp, on S2 it displayed current, min, and max.
