I'm the same. I'm thinking a bit like how the apps get updated, maybe get to chose to not update some bits (Maybe because of a know bug, that will conflict with something else if updated). Plus see what will be updated and not just wait for a change log

So news has hit the web that Korea will start receiving the Jelly Bean update on the 9th of October. I've also been having a bit of banter on FB and SamKies mentioned that all countries will be getting the roll out after Korea.

Just speculation but the Jelly Bean roll out should officially start on the 09/10/12 so S3 international owners should start getting the roll out next week, maybe towards the end of the week or the start of the week after.

I'll update the thread with any more news.

Edit: Don't think I can be bothered waiting for something that looks the same, JB doesn't seem to be a major move in any certain direction. Think it's time to mess with flashing phones again....not sure why I thought it wouldn't happen a second time round.

Was hoping to use UOT Kitchen (YouTube it) to custom the S3, looks good. People on ICS or JB don't bother as these Android versions are not supported

Lol, so have just finished installing Wanamlite's JB Rom. Pretty easy to install and the first noticeable differences are some of the UI animations and how smooth/responsive the Ui is (Since the rom is tweaked some of the performance will be down to the developers not just Android 4.1.)

Still cannot sync the Internet section of my Google account

With Samsung releasing the Galaxy Note 2 (already available) and the S3 Mini tomorrow, it looks like the Jelly Bean update has been put on the back burner for now. Samsung have been releasing firmware updates in Asia and Central Europe for the above models and also the S3 LTE.

As mentioned in post #123 Samsung have distributed firmware to S. Korean S3 owners so hopefully European S3 owners will be soon. It's been reported that the US S3 owners will be the last to receive the update.

    Vlingo is not active?
    Driving mode is not on?
System sound reduced to nothing, which doesn't stop the voice?
Taken the battery out for 10 min?

At the moment the only other option I have is to Factory Reset and don't want to do that until I've rooted and backed up the app data.
Mine does the same, I think it started it started after I installed Nova prime. Check the settings if you are running it.
I haven't bothered because I hardly ever need to pich the home screen and the voice doesn't bother me.

I solved that problem a while back.....seems like ages ago but it's only June

The problem I had was with LightFlow Pro, I posted the solution somewhere....here we go:

The app causing the problem is LightFlow and apparently the problem gets a lot worse if you use Google Books. Since it needs access to the Accessibility options it will start to read out things/books automatically, even with Talkback option off.

Not really a problem for me since I do not use folders on the homescreen and rarely mess with the homescreen or number of.

Update: How to get rid of the speaking voice if using Lightflow:

Very simple solution. Go to Menu > Settings > Accessibility and turn the Lightflow option off. Lightflow will still work and you no longer have the annoying voice.

Edit: Don't forget to backup settings within app before uninstalling.

Also came across another way to view homepages quickly. On any homescreen hold down the white dot (above dock icons) and swipe back and forth. not saying it's new but still nifty. Works in the app draw too....I guess any screen that has the white dots.

Theme ALL keyboards without FCs! [A guide for beginners] - XDA Thread

Just a quick post, saw a thread on XDA for customising/theming your own Keyboard...thought I'd share.

The XDA member called rompnit has tried to explain the process from a what he/she considers to be a newbie's point of view. Essentially the Keyboard is a picture, so you extract the picture from the Keyboard.apk, edit the picture and replace the .apk.

Read rompnot's thread over @ XDA - Theme ALL keyboards without FCs! [A guide for beginners]
