Samsung Galaxy S III comes with a new MHL port, HDMI adapters not compatible

"The flagship Galaxy S III has a redesigned MHL port and that’s incompatible with the previous HDMI MHL adapters available for other Samsung products.

The reason is very simple – despite the USB MHL port looks the same, the phone uses the connector pins in a different way. Thus your old MHL HDMI cables won’t work on the newly released S III.
Unfortunately, there won’t be a fix – it’s a hardware thing and it can’t be fixed with some hack. It’s unclear why Samsung decided to change the pins used for the HDMI connection.

So, if you want to connect a Galaxy S III to an HDTV you will need to buy an MHL cable specifically designed to be used with the phone. None of the available standard cables will work. The new cable costs £25. A bummer, indeed."

In order to get access, Galaxy S III users will have to download the Eurosport Player for Android and activate their free subscription between July 14 and August 12.

The disassembly video will be interesting when I get nineteen minutes and twenty-six seconds free to watch it.

Is there any possibility of changing the thread title from Welsh to English? Maybe the mighty Goots could help.

EDIT: I see there's also one for the eye eye from the same guy, might be useful one day but I hope not..!

EDIT AGAIN: I'm surprised how easy it is to take apart and put back together 'as best you can'. Cheers Tuffy for bringing that to the party.

The irritating thing about dropbox is the way they cajole you to perform certain tasks in order to gain extra storage space and it's not even confirmed that it's permanent!

So last night I pinched the homecreen to view something and a voice spoke to me explaining what i was doing and said, "View homespace edit screen". When I press the back button it mentions how many homepages I have.

The phone speaks only when you pinch the homescreen and come out of the overview?
Vlingo is not active?
Driving mode is not on?
System sound reduced to nothing, which doesn't stop the voice?
Taken the battery out for 10 min?

At the moment the only other option I have is to Factory Reset and don't want to do that until I've rooted and backed up the app data.
