During the last six months of so the problems with the hires camera in my SGS2 have turned from being just really annoying to fatal. Earlier, my camera or the firmware/software had poor abilities to focus the picture correctly giving blurry and random results. Later on, the saving or processing of the photos right after shooting were stopped by crashing of the samsung Camera software. This happened by camera app giving error message and then shutting down itself.
Finally, after the firmware update (I9100XWLPG) about a week ago the camera has totally stopped working. The application shows no live picture and crashes after 10-15 sec. I cannot access the settings and the only thing the application does is that it turns the icons on screen along with the rotation of the phone.
I wonder if any of you have had similar kind of issues? Is there a way to fix this easily or could the problem actually be the hardware itself? I've tried factory settings but I haven't rooted the phone (yet).
[Edit: I managed to get the camera to come to life for a few seconds by letting the battery be removed from the device for a few minutes. When trying to recover the factory settings on camera app it crashed saying "Camera doesn't work" and taking me back to the square one.
