google contacts not syncing

I just noticed this when I just flashed my S2 with the galaxy nexus F1 rom.
A few of my contacts where not on google when I downloaded them to my phone. After investigating I found that any contact I put in my phone that has a number only and no email address will not sync up to google ?.... I tried making different groups and using the default contacts app and Go contacts app, the same
Yes, before anyone asks I did add to the google address book not local
I know it couldn't be my phone settings and must be a google and ICS thing, as it was obviously happening before I went from the samsung 4.03 rom to the nexus F1 rom, and is still happening, it never happened on gingerbread
My wife has a galaxy S on gingerbread and has no problem syncing, she also syncs to the same google account so its not the google account either
So basically WTF ? I don't really want to have to put an email address in every time I add a new number
Is anyone else having this issue ?

A contact has a number only is this on your sim card?
if so you wil have to go to Contacts > Settings and Import from sim card into your Google account.

For clarification, you have added a contact with number only in your Google address book.
By 'not local' do you mean the Contact was added via your computer Gmail account?

Basically after I found the error I started adding new contacts to my phone, under family name test and given name one, two, three etc.... to my google account using the phone in a folder called test...... all numbers with email addresses were available in my google account in the cloud, the ones without emails only appeared on my phone

Hi All

I am new to this forum and not able to post a new thread. so posting here my issue:

Just got my Samsung S2 yesterday. need to import contacts from my N97 mini to S2. I copied my contacts to an SD card and pasted to a folder in S2. I tried to Import it from S2 Contacts as below:

Contacts - import/export - import from USB storage - phone - import all vCard files

unfortunately nothing happened,

FYI my contact format is .vcf.

I would be highly appreciated if some one help me to solve this issue.

Import your VCF to Gmail contacts then sync with phone.
