Question Where did the books come from?

Earlier I was looking about in the Google Apps store and looking at several that I am considering loading. When I was logged into the store I noted a link at the bottom marked my orders and devices. So being the nosey type I clicked and then find it shows three books as being downloaded, Alice in Wonderland, Treasure Island and the 3 Musketeers which I had no knowledge of. When I looked on my phone in the play book app there were the books !
Where did they come from as, up til now, I haven't ordered or installed anything - still getting used to the phone first before I go down that line
Can someone tell me how this happened or where the books pre-loaded with the original gingerbread or did it come when I upgraded to ICS last week?
It bothered me a little as was more concerned about the potential for things being loaded without my knowledge.
Anyone know about this at all?

    Trees generally.

With any book app you will always get a couple of basic books, the app has to be showcased and the only way to do it is to have a book pre-loaded.

It would be an update from the Google Play and although it's your phone, it's not your operating system or application. I'm not being rude it's just true, without the software your phone is pretty useless....unless you have one of those £20,000 fancy ones...then it's an asset.

This is why people root so they can control which apps they have on their phone.

lol ok I set myself up for that. Think that may motivate me to learn about rooting so that I can control stuff that much more.

Sorry that's just me and I like easy pickings

Rooting means you have the opportunity to freeze apps, not always best to get rid of them...all covered some where on this forum. Just make sure you read up on this yellow triangle thing, it's regarding warranty and what not.

Not a problem and I'm the same I'll be sure to have a very good read up on rooting before even comtemplating that little pastime. Least it does allow opportunities to remove things that aren't wanted or essential to a phones use.
