Who's gone from an II to an III and was it worth it?

I keep looking at the III but is it really worth moving to from my II? Who's made the change and what are you thoughts?

Hi I was in the same boat as you. Are you thinking in the way of cost? Or spec? I have just got mine today and it's great I wanted the blue line but couldn't wait. Spec wise you will have the mist powerful phone in the world! It looks great it feels great and to say it has only just crime out there are only a few software improvements needed. If it's down to cost recycle your s2 I am I was going to ebay it but after you have the fees you might as well recycle it and cut out the hassle! Cash4phones I think it's called £210 for my s2 gonna put it straight to my line rental and pay off 6 months up front. Hope this has kind of helped

It's not a giant change more subtle changes really but yes I do think its worth it. Feels much better to handle light and fast and the screen is amazing.

Thanks for the replies. I suppose my concerns are two-fold.

Firstly, is the larger size less convenient to handle and secondly are the improvements worth the full cost of purchase (I buy SIM free).

I don't think it's worth the upgrade, Unless you want a bigger better screen, or some of the bells and whistles it has (Though some may make it to the EyeEye).

This is why I didn't upgrade to the EyeEye, but have to upgrade the the TripleEye now because I was stupid enough to go and play with one in store.

In the end it's what you decide. Ask me next year when the new phones come out

I took my first contract out (price too cheap to resist) to get this just as I was about to buy through Amazon sim free.
The truthful answer is I love my phone and dont regret taking the contract out but do I think its worth £500 cash? mmmmm Not really. On the other hand they are paying good money on ebay for used S2's so that would give you your money back.

Well, for anyone reading, I bit the bullet. After a few plays and much reading I decided the overall improvements added up to make it worthwhile. Plus I persuaded my boss that with my fading eyesight the larger screen would be a real boon

A major factor for moving was the design. Coming from a series of Sony Ericsson / Nokia phones (I still have my S-E P800, a wonderful design). the Android options of "Which black slab would you like sir?" were rather dispiriting. I must confess to finding the III a beautiful piece of kit.
