S2 no longer showing PDFs or JPEGs in emails

I'm sure it used to, but my S2 is no longer displaying PDFs or JPEGs that are sent to me in emails (perhaps since the ICS update?)

If it's a PDF, the email is simply blank, if it's a photo all I see it a small blue question mark.

    Any help appreciated!

Try installing an app called Download all files. That might do the trick.

But should the stock email app not show them anyway?

Can you long press on the PDF and select Polaris Office to open it. Or save the PDF and then open it with Polaris office, which has a PDF reader.

Except there's nothing to press. I'm used to there being two boxes (one saying something like message and the other saying attachment).

I've literally just received a photo from my other half (emailed from his iPhone). On my computer, the email shows a photo. On my S2, there's nothing except an email saying "What about these?" No photo, no 'attachment' box to press. But in the inbox, the email has the small paperclip next to it, so it obviously knows there should be an attachment.

There appears to be an error in either your email or network provider settings following your ICS update.
It is possible that you have a conflict with some Gingerbread settings and it is recommended that you factory reset and clear cache after the ICS update (although nothing mentioned if updated through Kies)

    Network Provider settings (APN)
ICS affects your Access Point Names (from your network provider)
Just check in Settings > Wireless and network > More .... Mobile networks > Access Point Names that the package you are on contract/PAYG and network provider are correct and you have a blue dot next to your package.
If here are other APN's there that you are not using it is a good idea to delete them (select then Menu)

    Email Account
I think the best way of getting emails on your phone is to import them via your Gmail, but if you don't want to do this you can look at your email settings to see if there are any errors.
If it was me, I'd delete and reinstall the email settings (actually I'd not use the stock email client)

Are you using the stock email app or Gmail app? In stock email app, I have 2 tabs if an email contains an attachment. First tab is called Message and second tab called Attachments.

Should have asked if you have the same problem when on wifi?
If so then it's more to do with your email settings.

Thanks for this. I'm afraid I have no such route as "Settings > Wireless and network" so don't know how to find what you're suggesting.

I get my email from my 1&1 provider via IMAP and am using the stock email app.

I also seem to have lost flash. On BBC News wesbite, under videos I have the same as I used to have when using an iPhone: "Cannot play media. You do not have the correct version of flash installed" etc. etc.

I appear to have the latest flash installed, but its as if the phone doesn't know it.

Did you get the Flash app from the Play Store?
Regarding your settings, have you tried pressing the Menu (left of Home button) as Settings is there.
If on ICS it's Settings.... More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names
