Confused on how to back to stock...getting ready for ICS

OK I have a rooted SII. I just need to know how to go back to stock, unrooted, and NOT lose any of my data. Is there a FAQ Step by Step to go back to factory and NOT lose any data.

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated I searched and searched the more I search the more I get confused.

    Thanks

No need to unroot to install ICS as the upgrade process will unroot anyway.
You don't say how you are going to upgrade.
If by Kies, you back up your phone during the process, although you can carry out a manual backup.
Open Kies and in Help are video tutorials

The data at risk during an update is SMS, apps, contacts and settings.
Your photo's and SD card are untouched.

    Greenman,
Well I have mine rooted with Kernerl Versoin 2.635.14-SGH-T989-faux123-009u and Mod Version Juggernaut-v5.0....

I have not gotten the Mainteance updare to UVLDE.

So what your saying is that I dont have anything to worry about until T-MO does their update..then I will have to unroot and install the Mod I want....

I will be upgraded using Kies...NOT OTA....

When you flash any firmware it removes root.
If you connect to Kies it will tell you if your phone can be updated via its connection.
Alternatively you can look on sammobile.com for an ICS update and flash via Odin. Odin is simply an alternative firmware update programme, but doesn't offer the data back-up options that Kies gives.

You may get an OTA update, but that will be down to your network if they modify the ICS to work on their system.
But it is a big update so Kies is the most likely update method.

If you would like to consider an Odin update can you dial *#1234 # in your phone and copy the information here, so we can advise on any available update?

Firmware UVLDE is available at sammobile.com and through Kies or Odin download.
