Unhappy Cannot set volume low enough

I've had my new Samsung S2 a week now and I find I'm unable to lower the Message and Ringtone alerts volume low enough!

I work in an office environment and would like to put all alerts/ring-tones on a very low volume setting (whisper quiet, not silent) during office hours. Problem is I find that the lowest volume setting is still too loud, It would be great to have a few increments between the lowest and silent.

    Is this just me???

Any hack or tricks to be able to do this? would be good to do without installing any additional app/widget

    Cheers for any help.

    How quiet is quiet??
In Settings > Sound > Volumes the 'sound bar' on my S2 is variable and goes very quiet.
Perhaps a combination of that and the actual alert is where your solution is.

EDIT: There's also the option of a bluetooth earpiece or headphones.

Thanks greenman, your right - volume levels definitely can be subjective. I did try setting the alert to a alternate mellower tune to get around this but with no joy,I still find the jump from silent to the lowest volume level to high.

Yes, I could set my phone to vibrate or silent for use in the office - I'm just bummed I cannot set it to a super low level as I've been able to do with all my phones prior to my SG2. (same tones btw)
