    Mobile Networks

Hi, My S2 is on Orange, at my house I get a very poor Orange signal, when I do a mobile networks search and I click on Orange/T-Mobile I get a very good signal, unfortunately when I switch the phone off, upon restart it's back to just Orange again and I have to search mobile networks again to get it to Orange/T-Mobile.
Anyway that I can get it to restart on the network I want and not automatically coz it keeps going back to just Orange.
    Thanks

Have you got network set to Automatic? It should switch to whichever is the stronger signal.....

If you're on an Orange contract them Orange is who you need to connect to.
If the signal is poor, Orange do have a signal booster.
Have a look on their website.

PS If your phone is unlocked you can obtain a sim card from your strongest signal provider.
You can check whether it's unlocked, although I doubt it from Orange, by dialing this number on your phone:

FYI, Orange and T Mobile share signals and will both switch to whichever network has the strongest signal

No need for alternative sim card, as has been said, Orange and T-Mobile share signals. It should switch to the strongest one automatically but sometimes you may need to manually switch.

I was aware that Orange and Tmobile allow their customers to connect to whichever is the strongest 3G signal, but that doesn't mean it's the strongest in the OP's location. Hence the suggestion, albeit remote knowing the Orange love of locking phones, that another networks sim card may offer an even better signal.

Hi, Yes I've unlocked the phone.
I can see the "Select automatically" option, but that goes to just Orange for some reason, which definately isn't the strongest signal as I'm struggling to get to 1 bar at home, once I reset it to Orange/T-Mobile I get the full 4 bars, unfortunately as I've said it just switches back upon restarting the phone.
I cannot see a way to get it to manually lock to Orange/T-Mobile permanently

Try changing your network mode to wcdma rather than auto.
    Also try GSM.

I'll try that out today to see if it remains on the Orange/T-Mobile signal.
    Cheers

Exactly as above, you could be getting a strong 3g signal but still only show 1 bar which will take president over a weaker 2g signal with 4 bars. If you set network to GSM only you should see an improvement in signal stability as the phone won't be constantly searching between the two.....
