The factory reset will take you back to the last ROM that you flashed. Then, when you start the phone, for the first time, it will ask you for your Country (Region). Choose UK and your CSC will be set to XEU. I would reset before and after flashing, but no need to setup your phone after the first reset.

Sorry Greenman one last question before I take the plunge, shoudl I select clear cache partition and then factory rest or just factory rest as I have already flashed it a few days ago and think it is just this I need to now do... what do you think. Oh and will I then need to root again.

A factory rest is sufficient, but no harm in clearing cache for a cleaner start.

Will do my best, have contributed to one re battery and it does work discharging and then giving a full recharge it makes the battery last longer. Would love to get to your skill level though, I have a feeling that may take a lifetime for me.

Yes quite agree on both counts, my pal has just ordered a S3 from Amazon unlocked, so I am looking forward to seeing it. Is the rooting principle to same, that is go in to download mode and activate SU installer etc as think they will be wanting to root it.
    Have you seen this
Download Galaxy S3 Android 4.0.4 I9300XXALE8 Firmware , this this had it on a newletter, what do you think. Also this
Download Galaxy S3 Android 4.0.4 ALE8 CF Root Kernal

Principle of rooting is the same, ie Bootloader is not locked, but will need different kernel for SGS3.
Let me know when you need it and I'll send it to you (with instructions )
