I have no idea what this means I just know it should be GT-19100LKAXEU --- so if I reflash again with this will it rectify the region

    Nice short answer - YES

BTW Be careful with short (service codes) if you do not know what you are doing.
They can be very useful, but also render your phone unusable.

I will only put the unzipped file in the PDA section and flash, i do not know what to do with short service codes, is there anything I need to look out for with this?

Hi RichH I have downloaded the firmware and it is the same I have on my Phone take a look...
    PDA is 19100 XWLP7
    Phone 19100 XXLPS
    CSC 19100 EULP5

And this is the open euro XEU firmware you want to get XEU CSC
    GT-I9100 I9100XWLP7 4.0.3 2012 April I9100XEULP5 United Kingdom / Ireland
Note both the PDA and CSC are different to yours

So in theory I should have the option to change to XEU but I do not I only have KOR not sure where I am going wrong. I will reflash at lunch time but do you think there is any point, just want KOR to be XEU though. Really frustrating when something should happen and to all intense purpurses you have follewed instruction but it does not appear to work, I want to know what I am doing wrong. Any help or advice most welcome, should I clear cache before flashing as I have never done so.

Morning Pluto. After flashing you do a factory reset and your sales code should change.
Have a look at this De branding link for more info:

Factory reset before and after flashing, but it is the after flashing that will change your sales code.
If you've flashed to the XEU ICS then factory reset now, and no it will not revert to gingerbread. You have flashed to ICS and this is now the factory reset firmware.
