EDIT: OK, I took the plunge! I have to say Cyanogen has come a hell of a long way since the last time I tried it...

Anyhow, I put SlimICS on and holy crap the DPI is way too high for an i9000 imho!, so I've changed that back to 240 and it looks usable now

I'll let you know how I get on...

Couldn't get into SlimICS (I think it was a little bit too slim ) so I've reverted back to Cyanogen CM9, and I'm starting to really like it.

The next question is do I go for the Semaphore Kernel...

Well I'm still on Darky's 9.5 which I like but I did install Sanatogen mod 7 on my daughter's phone to get rid of the Orange customisation and temove a memory restriction but she didn't like it saying it looked too "computery"- so it had to go back. I must say, flashing an HTC Desire seems a lot easier than an SGS.
