Now you are on ICS, have you looked in Settings > Back up and reset?
Ensure that 'Back up my data' and 'Automatic restore' are ticked and you are sorted when you come to changing firmware.

Not thought about that but will do it, I will also have to re root it again once I put the XEU on, I am right in thinking the firmware file goes in the PDA section of Odin. I thought I would just have to put everything back on again via titanium once I had rooted it again after the change. thanks

That's correct, the unzipped XEU file goes in PDA of Odin and do not tick any other boxes.
As you are coming from another version of ICS there will be no need to factory reset and clear cache, therefore your phone will restart and after loading all the apps and settings will look the same as it does now.
My understanding is that rooting your phone could be the reason why Kies fails to provide you with any updates - but have been told on this forum that it makes no difference.
As I don't use Kies, the situation has never arisen for me so cannot confirm.

Voodoo https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...b3RrZWVwZXIiXQ.. will hide your root from other apps / systems that don't like rooted devices.

Sorry I misled you regarding rooting.
Flashing the XEU firmware will remove root so you will have to do it again.

OK great and thanks I will root it again once done, I still have the files on my SD card to do so and the instructions too. Just download the hide root app also.

Well it took 30 minutes from start to finish, I now have the UK version and rooted, feeling pretty pleased with myself thats to you all. Stupid Kies still will not recognise drivers, will need to check out this forum for updates, is there a particular section were I should keep looking. Dont go away now as to know you are around to help has encouraged me to have a go and be brave.
    thanks a mil P.
