Question Create Folders in ICS on S2 19100

Hi am rooted and updated but not able to create folers, have tried all utube suggestions, one folder draged over another and does not work just moves the icon to one side. I have pressed to the new middle button as suggested the one with 6 dots, got to my apps and tired to creat folder via widgets, I've pressed the widgets tab and get a dialog box that says Add to home Screen I press on folders this then opens options I select new folder and when I press it nothing happens other than closing the box off - what I am missing here.

Pluto, don't think it is possible to add a folder to a folder, however you could add the contents of one folder to another.
From within the 'mother' folder you may then be able to create a new folder to organise the data.

Sorry can't test this as changed back from ICS to Gingerbread.

EDIT. Have tried with stock Gingerbread and wasn't possible to add one folder to another, or create a new folder in a folder.
    Just not Windows!!

May well be an app or another launcher that allows this, but at the moment I'm not aware of one. Sorry.

Hi Greenman, think I may have posted wrong, what I want to do is organise my apps into folders it will not let me, I had in the gingerbread OS for example a games folder with all my games in it, makes finding stuff easier. On the videos I have viewed for ICS it says just drag one app over another and a folder is created, then drag apps into the folders as required, well this does not happen, I have read the manual and it does not give me any more cluse. What made you go back to gingerbread.

Can't remember how ICS did this, but pretty sure it's the same way as in GB.
On a home screen long press and select folder.
    Name it Games or whatever.
Now go to game in applicationd and long press.
ICS let's you drag to bottom of screen to put on a home screen.
Once on home screen with games folder, drag and drop it in.

There may be a quicker method

ICS was good, but the battery issue was too much. Couldn't be bothered to faff around with settings when GB did what I want perfectly well without modifying settings.

May go back to ICS though as lots of things I liked.

fantastic when I long clicked on the home screen I was able to make a folder and name it thanks again. Is there any way I can do this in the applications as in GB I had all my folders there I kept the home screen for quick reference stuff. Really pleased you replied, I am learning all the time in debt to you once again.

Use Nova Launcher, as I mentioned in my other reply, you can have folders anywhere you want then, rename them, resize them, drag and drop into them from anywhere etc....

The OP created 2 threads for the same thing, Alison's response was perfectly reasonable.

I know it wasn't helpful but it got the poster some help. Was stating it had already been posted, no need for two the same.

You can drag and drop apps to create folders on the homescreens, wasn't aware it could be done with gb. Never tried it. Not sure if you're trying to create folders in the app drawer or on homescreen but you should be able to do it on homescreen at least by that method.
