    new owner and hating phone

Had an I-phone for years but was told how much better the android was so I went with it...so disappointed...cannot for the life of me figure out how to transfer my music from computer to phone...I obviously at one point syn'd my phone to my computer I think as it picked up all my contacts etc...now I suddenly don't get my email messages....and despite numerous attempts cannot transfer my music...says the phone can't sync with computer (which is also a samsung)...went back to Best Buy where I bought the phone and they said because I hadn't bought their 'product warranty" they couldn't help and I would need to go to my carrier (Bell); haven't done that yet...but getting very frustrated....also share everyone's concerns re battery life which seems alot shorter....I loved my I=phone as I could connect to NIKE etc..which I also can't do...when I try to add my phone as a device on computer it keeps giving me error messages

I am a new owner too. I downloaded Kies, and it is easy to transfer music using this software. If you haven't got it, here is a link.

    Hope this helps.

Know how you feel. I hated, and still hate Apple computers after using Windows.
It's a mindset and if you want to make the most of your phone you have to go through a steep learning curve.

Regarding your music, there are a number of ways of transferring from your computer to phone, but Kies is not one of the better ways.

    Wireless method:
Download the Airdroid app from Play Store - you can do it by visiting the site here and install:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...airdroid&hl=en

1.Start Airdroid and open the web address on your computer.
    2. Put code into Airdroid box
    3. Open up Music and in top right you can
    a) download (to computer) or
    b) Upload to phone:
Open your computer Music file and drag and drop the files you want on your phone.

Another app worth looking at if you want to sync your iTunes is doubleTwist player:

"The Cure for iTunes withdrawal" -- New York Times

I would go with Drunken Monkeys suggestion, much simpler. Download and install kies, connect the phone to your computer and wait for it to install the drivers. You can then sync with kies.

I've personally never synced my phone but do sometimes want to copy stuff to my computer, to do this, connect to computer, choose USB storage, open folder with said files and drag and drop to where you want to store them.

I am on a custom rom and can't remember how to turn USB storage on offhand, it's somewhere in settings, I'm sure somebody else can guide you through that bit.

The phone is nowhere near as daunting as it seems, just a case of getting used to a new operating system and picking up information as you go :-)

Or you could just connect phone to PC in mass storage mode and drag and drop files to either the phones internal sd card or to an external sd card.

And yet another app, and considered by many to be the best for Windows to Android syncing and playing is WinAmp.
    Take a look here:

Yes, much easier than downloading apps to do the job. Lol.

Richard, I was thinking you need the drivers on the computer before you could do that, hence my post. Lol.

Cheryls, do what Richardj says, much easier and the best way I think :-)

Yes, Richard's way is another good method.
All depends on what you want to do and that depends on how much music you have and how often you change it.
Syncing is clearly going to be the best way if you have are constantly adding to (or removing) your music collection.
If you can connect to Kies that will do it.
If, however, you find problems in getting Kies to work there are a plethora of music sync apps.

By the time you have synced your music you could have dragged and dropped to the phone in mass storage mode, and removed unwanted music just as quickly.
