Ice cream sandwich upgrade issues

Newbie on this site, but have been using the Galaxy S2 for some time now. My problem is that following a notification re upgrades I downloaded and installed the Ice Cream Sandwich firmware. Everything is fine except that not all the features shown on the promo are present on the phone - Specifically, the applications menu is still as it was and there doesn't appear to be the improvements mentioned on the camera (special effects etc) Does anyone have any thoughts or solutions ? - Apologies if it appears a stupid question

The difference between ICS and gingerbread is not immediately obvious.
