    Any Suggestions?

As I cannot connect my SGS2 to my Mac via Kies can anyone suggest how if I want to upgrade to ICS how do I do it

Samsung have fobbed me off with promises of several call-backs to see what they can offer as a solution but none of them have been forthcoming. Great CS from Samsung!!

    Thanks.

PS the same problem exists with my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Kies!!

Yes. Heimdall for Android, bit like Odin.

Easy to use, though you won't think that when you first see it.

I can't help you to install it on your mac, but if your having problems after I may able to

Kies is flakey to put it mildly.
Is the problem that when you connect to your computer, your phone isn't recognised and so the drivers are not installed?
I could give you an alternative link for Windows drivers, but for the Mac I will have to search - or you could.

According to the other post, the drivers are installed and the phone shows up in explorer. Something on the PC is blocking the phone from the Kies software it seems.....

May not help as your OP was on Windows.

PS Where in schrodinger's post does it say that the drivers were installed?

In that case there's something blocking the phone (and my Galaxy Tab) on my PC, my Laptop, my iMac and my Mac Book Pro from the Kies software.

A previous post. When I connected my SG2 to the PC it came up Installing Drivers, then after a few minutes it came up Divide Installed Correctly (or words to that effect) however despite having the firewall turned off and the AV turned off Kies wouldn't connect to the phone. I experience the same problem with the Galaxy Tab. I can use the phone in USB mode on the PC & Mac so I can see the files and folders that are on the phone but Kies just doesn't want to know.
