    Help rooting Note

I jumped ship from an S2 to a Note last week and everything seems bigger and better than the S2, except for rooting which seems much more complicated. I've read the sticky on the easy way to root the Note, but it seems from reading other forums that although that was valid once, you can't do this with the newer ROMS? I'm on XXLA6 and want to keep this but just get root so I can freeze the unwanted system apps and backup with Titanium. I've been trawling through the rooting threads on XDA and finding them a bit hard to understand what I need to do. It seems I have to flash an older ROM first, and then what? Root with zergrush or flash a modified FACTORYFS? Then download LA6 and flash - with CWM Manager or with Mobile Odin? Either way keeps root? I'm really confused! Help please!!

    Hi!

Did it quit a few times recently.
First you need to flash old ROM with Odin, I did XXKKA. Then you use zergrush to root your device (get CF-Root-SGN_XX_AUT_KKA-v5.0-CWM5). Then you flash whatever new ROM you fancy ( I used CWM, but MobileOdin should do the same, CWM seems simpler for me to flash zip file) , I actually use Darky Note 3.4. After you do initial root with zergrush the device stays rooted.

As for details of all of this I was following Dr Ketan's posts on XDA.

Thanks. I was reading his post on XDa along with Chainfire's and another one, but they all say different things. So, using Zergrush with that CF-root gives me CW Manager?
