My S2 stolen.. Help !

Yesterday I was unfortunate to have had my S2 stolen in Manchester. I was devastated. I rang Vodafone UK who blacklisted it, but I am reading on internet that if the phone is sent abroad it may work. Voda said that all my data will be deleted. If it goes abroad, will it work?, and will my pictures, data, gmail all be on there or has it been wiped? I also had a screen lock on it also. I am a bit concerned now.

So sorry to read that your phone has been stolen.
When Voda said your data would be deleted, did they say how?
There are apps you could have installed that can remotely delete data providing the phone is switched on, but not sure this is native to the S2 (i.e. it's an add on) But may be wrong.
The opportunity to remotely add an app will now not be possible due to the blocking by Voda.
I would check again with Voda if your information is in any way sensitive, and take any precautions to prevent fraudulent abuse of it.

PS sadly, yes, your phone can be used if sent abroad.

Will my pictures be on there? as they were on the SD card? I have Google step verification on there which I have revoked. Can my gmail emails be accessed etc?

If the sd card was in the phone then they will be available to the thief.
Regarding google emails, go into google and change your password and any other passwords you think may be on the phone.

In reality, unless you work for MI5, it is unlikely that the thief was / is interested in your data. It was the phone they were after and it will probably have been factory reset and sold down the pub already. Keep an eye on ebay for someone selling a faulty one with "No reception" and suggesting they would like to sell it abroad only.....

Think RichH is correct in that the theft was for your phone not your data, but only you know what was on there and what is sensitive or would give access to any of your secure sites.
If you used your phone to access your bank account , for example, it may be worth having a think about how you've used your phone and change any passwords that may be on the phone.

I have accessed google docs via the web on it, but have not got the password stored anywhere. I also revoked the 2 step verification and set it up again. so that might help.

Yes, it's mainly banking/paypal and similar links that I would be concerned with.
Check with vodafone that you haven't had a big bill created between the time of the phone been stolen and you notifying them.

I don't think that having 2 step verification is much use if they have your phone.....They'll get the verification text when it's sent.
Look in settings and you can encrypt the phone and the SD card and also allow the phone to be locked, tracked and data to be wiped remotely...It will also tell you when a sim has been changed by sending a text alert to another phone of your choice.
Or you can get 'Prey' installed and use that (My preference).
