E-mail notifications in mandarin.

Hi Guys

I flashed with ICS XXLPQ UK version and now my E-mail notification are in Mandarin.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, fixed it?

Is that the H3G version?
Unless you know differently the notification is probably Korean (where Samsung are based)
Check in language and input that Korean is not chosen for keyboard.
Also look in Date and time that you have the correct location and time zone for you.

All languages are set to English. When you get a new mail, it notifies you in the top bar, you pull the bar down and the mails are not in English, but are in English when you go into them.

H3G is UK 3mobile.
Mentioned that as ICS XXLPQ in UK would be provided by 3mobile.

And your date time is set to Greenwich/london?

Which email app are you using, as doesn't sound like the stock ICS android

I'm in South Africa. My time is set to central Africa.
I'm using the stock Mailer.

Your firmware is definitely H3 Network specific. The 3 Network is a service provider in the UK so if you are not with the 3 Network then I would flash new firmware.

Your CSC says OXA, were they any other letters in brackets afterwards? If it was me I would change my csc using the service commands and double check that you are on the right CSC.

It also doesn't help being on software that is orientated towards a network provider not associated with your phone.

Odd. Essentially the problem is software based. If the only notifications that are mandarin are from the e-mail app, then I would suggest rooting the phone and then freezing the e-mail app and installing a different version, if you can find the APK. No doubt XDA has the APK you'll need.

If the app isn't the problem then it's system software so you should flash new firmware. If you are in the uk then you can use any open europe firmware or at worse CPW.
