    Stopped Receiving emails!

Sorry peeps! I've posted this thread in the wrong section!! It should be in the Galaxy SII section not here in the 'Note' section!! Bloody Newby!!

    Hi Guys!

    Brand new forum member here!
I know it's a bit rude to dive in with a request for help but I don't know enough about this phone to be of much use to anyone else yet!

Have owned my Galaxy SII for three weeks or so now and love it!

Set up my three Virgin mail accounts as follows:

    Incoming Settings:
    Username
    Password
    imap4.virgin.net
    SSL
    993

    Outgoing settings:
    smtp.virgin.net
    SSL
    465

It has been working fine up until a day or two ago when it stopped receiving emails to my phone but still getting emails on that account on my PC at home?

    Have I done something wrong?

Is there a fix for this?

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance!

    John.

Check your Exchange mailbox to see if you have any non-delivery reports or email receipts in there. Both of those can cause the problem you have reported. If you do have such items, delete the first one after the time of the last successful synchronisation, and then try to resynch. If you have more than one such item and it doesn't work after the first removal, try each one in turn.

There appears to be a problem between Samsung and the Exchange server protocols; sometimes receipts and NDRs are read ok by the phone, and sometimes not. The problem also affects attempts to re-enter your email credentials into the Galaxy email program.

Can you import the emails into your gmail?
I find this works very well and you only need to have the one folder (Gmail) on your home page.
Go into Gmail and then Settings.

    This may help:

Is the problem of sending both with WiFi and mobile data, and are you using the stock email app?

My previous suggestion of importing your Bt emails via Gmail will get round any problems.
Go to Applications > Gmail > settings and in top right is Add Account.

    From your Gmail account

    Outgoing settings
    SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
    Port: 465
    Security type: SSL (always)
