    Question Full system wipe.??

I have recently flashed dark knight ics rom.. On some occasions i get force close errors & random soft reboots..
I want to do a full wipe, both system & data.
    1. In recovery select factory reset
    2. wipe cache
    3. wipe dalvik cache
    4. format system
    5. format data
    6. format cache

Question DOES FULL WIPE DELETE MY PHOTOS, MUSIC, VIDEOS, APP APK'S FROM INTERNAL SD CARD/MEMORY....??

If I swap nandroid backups (different roms for different firmwares) every other week ..
Will I cause any damage to the phone or is not good idea..??

Don't format system, it will wipe your phone's operating system completely.

When I went from xeo to lps I did factory reset, dalvich cache and I also formatted both usb storage and ext sd. I wanted a full clean install. I did it prior to flashing gb to upgrade via kies. I updated and then factory reset again and that was it. All is fine.

Still don't do the format system option. I did it once and phone would only go into recovery and download after, wouldn't boot. Of course, I simply reinstalled the original rom that came with the phone and it was fine but I certainly wouldn't recommend doing it.

I would stick with wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvich cache. You can wipe your sd card and the internal one too but I wouldn't touch anything else.

Might be wise to wait for others to respond who might have a better idea of what is definitely safe. I just err on the side of caution after making the mistake of wiping the wrong thing.

Thanks chuck for the advice (that is the logical thing to do), and but unfortunately i don't have ext sd card..My computer is out for repair..
I really want to flash ics rom again "but with full wipe"..
Question my dear.. If i carry out full wipe will it delete media files photos music videos etc etc..???
(i heard/read that full wipe does not affect sd card at all.. I deletes system &cache files & repartition. (and no i don't really understand).

If you get on with Kies, you can use that to backup, otherwise there are apps.
How much to wipe your phone is explained here:

    Thanks Alison & Greenman..

My initial question was that by doing full wipe, will it delete contents from my "internal sd card"..???

That's why I gave you the link.
It explains what each function does.

The quick answer is yes and no.
