    Question Bluetooth headsets: all unprofessional?

I spent £140 this morning on a Sennheiser MM 100 Bluetooth headset. I'm a bookkeeper and run my business from my S2.

Anyway, every single caller complained today saying I sounded distant, echoey 'tinny' etc. This is in contrast to using a £20 wired device.

I'm desperate to lose the wires but not at the expense of call quality.

Is this a common problem or have I been unlucky in my selection? I I've never used Bluetooth before so have nothing to compare it against.

I have a Plantronics car bluetooth and call quality both ways is good.
Reviews with this problem resolved it by increasing phone volume.

I was actually just looking at Plantronics. Need to see if PC World will take this one back first, need to try the 'its faulty' line....

Is Bluetooth the only way to link a headset to a mobile wirefree?

Depends what you want to do. For example there are apps that allow you to connect to your phone over wifi. Another member was looking for a desktop manager to answer /make calls and send messages, in other words access all functions of phone while phone in a dock.
If that's of interest I'll find the link.

Reckon bluetooth is best for you though.

Ha, it was me looking for the desktop manager!!

That's working well but this Bluetooth issue does bother me as I really cant have clients having a reduced call experience.

It's only for sitting at my desk to be honest so the wifi option would be of interest if the call clarity were to be superior.

    He he! Should have checked.
To be honest, your choice of bluetooth headset was good for you as a listener, but not so good for your caller. Main reason is the location of the microphone. Very discreet, but not right location so tends to pick up a lot of surrounding sound.
Something nearer your mouth is better.

Yeah, I fully agree. Spoken to a few chaps this morning and they're pointing me towards Plantronics too which is a good sign. Just trying to figure out which model to go for now, not compromising the clients call quality is the most important thing.

Luckily PC World took back my 'faulty' Sennheisers!
