SkyGO for ICS

As you may have found out by now, Sky Go is no longer supported by ICS or on any rooted SII. The guys at XDA have been working on this and a hack is available. I've tried it and it works on my SII running 4.0.3. Thought I'd share it with anyone interested.

Click to download .apk and install from file manager.
You will have to remove any previous install of SkyGo first.....

I've done a bit more research and if you are rooted you will need to temp hide root with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=search_result

You should be downloading a .apk file (2.9mb). It's not zipped....

Great stuff, thanks for the link. I changed to the UK unbranded version of ics yesterday and was gutted skygo wouldn't work.

I loaded this on to my phone as I didn't know about this and I have got sky, when I log in and press to watch something, it doesn't seem to load, I'm on wifi, does it take ages, or am I doing something wrong..?
Appreciate any help.

No, mine soesn't take too long to load. It streams so buffers for a few seconds then runs. Slightly lags behind the main broadcast but can live with that. Only thing I can sugest is you go into applications, find the app and clear data and clear cache and try again... Maybe something else on your phone?? Try it on 3G but obviously only if you have a good data plan. Let me know if you get any error codes.....

Thanks for advice, but with no luck still, cleared data, tried on 3g and wifi but it all gets me to sign in and I can see the listings, yet i then pick a programme and it says loading and it just sits there, 0% - 0/100, have left it for 5 mins and it has not budged, I will delete apk, and also sky+ and re-install and see if any joy.

OK, couple of questions: Are you using a stock ROM / Kernel ? and are you running any kind of ad blocker software? As you are not getting any error codes it's a bit difficult to diagnose. Can you try to stream Sky News channel and see if that works?

I had problems to start with but just rebooted phone and its all good now. Well done devs. You guys never seize to amaze me.
