sorry double post
When i try typing on my phone when i click the space to type, on my status bar at the top it comes up with a white keyboard and when i pull down the status bar it says select input mode (it's already on samsung ime and both swype and google voice typing is turned off) and it doesn't go away. also when i'm typing predictive text often doesn't work then i go in settings (the button is ticked) and i have to turn it off and on again for it to work can anyone help?
Aiden
I get the keyboard notification just on certain apps, can't recall which ones. It has disappeared for some apps that it did originally appear on and I am not sure if you have to select it for each app that requires the keyboard I think that is what I did. I know this sounds strange but there is nothing stranger than the Samsung OS. It only appears for a couple of apps now.
Newbe here, had my phone for about a week (i9100), love the phone downloaded and installed Lies 2 on my PC and did the ics upgrade to the phone. One small problem, the standard web browser no longer works, when I try to bring it up I get an all white screen for a few seconds, then it goes black except for the status bar at the very top, then after several seconds it comes back to the home screen.
My workaround has been to download the Opera mini browser which works fine. I would though like to have the stock browser working, has anyone else found this, or any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks in advance...
Sounds like one of the many problems associated with not wiping the phone prior to the ICS update.
PS Like the Kies written as 'Lies' - very appropriate. LOL
My battery life has really been affected by the 4.03 update. Can I roll back to ginger bread?. I would rather have more battery life than a few visual improvements.
You are not alone in finding this major flaw in the ICS firmware, but there are posts on this forum with suggestions o how to get back to a workable S2.
If you want to go back to Gingerbread it is indeed possible but not via Kies or OTA.
You will have to flash the firmware via something like Odin (which is like Kies but MUCH better)
No point telling you how to do it as there are many posts on here with the information.
As a pointer you need the flash programme (Odin) and the firmware, in which case look for sammobile.com
ARRG! Just noticed the" Lies", I did type Kies, STUPID AUTOCORRECT! Oh yes I typed it on my Xoom running ics , slapping self in forehead :-)
