Am I the only person who finds ICS for Uk unbranded slower than Gingerbread?

I'm still with the second Polish ICS - LPS - and reading these and other comments it would seem to be a better version than the open European version. Certainly I'm not getting all these problems with it apart from the increased battery usage and I'm working on that. It looks like I'll stick with the Polish version.

Just wish I could have worked out how to make the most of the app but you get a seven day trial and it would take me ages to work it out. Didn't want to buy it as I'm not confident I would be able to master it. Lol.

Alison one of things I do is go on You Tube and search for videos showing how to set the app up. I am going to do that and give Tasker a try. I am currently running Juice Defender Ultimate and Android Booster. But I am open to suggestions.

I was getting 2 days on GB with a dark wallpaper and lock screen.

I have disabled voice talk wake up command which apparently is a big battery drain, I have also turned off GPS and location settings and the auto sync. I have also uninstalled the apps I do not use and that includes the 3 games that were added when I downloaded ICS.

I drained my battery last night and recharged over night. Currently on 61% and I have been up and running for 11hrs 25m 5s.

Anyone interested in the application TASKER then view this video on You Tube to get a clearer understanding of how it works. I must admit after Alison mentioned it I thought I would look it up and I have to admit it looks quite impressive. I certainly can see how it would help me. I also like the website which has users preset setting which can be downloaded. Alison check it out it might help you make the decision to buy it.

check it out on you Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZknXD3BCBiA

    Hi,

Since updating my phone ive had a weird problem with the email app built into the phone. It will only show the last 5 emails ive received and also the widget is not working at all, it does not show any new emails that have been received and after a day just freezes completely not even opening the emails. It is quite annoying as the old email app was very good, is anyone else experiencing this problem?

If it makes a difference i had to update over wifi as my phone wont connect to any computers via usb (anyone able to help with that??)

    Cheers,

    Ash

If your phone won't connect to your computer then it's a driver problem.
In windows XP go into Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager and connect your phone.
Check that you are getting Samsung phone appearing with no yellow !

If a problem with Kies you can download the drivers from here:http://uploaded.to/file/xeczx9xt

If you came from Gingerbread to ICS WITHOUT carrying out a factory reset and wipe cache in Recovery, you can get the email problems you mentioned.

tbh if a phone comes up with a message saying an update is available i wouldnt expect to need to reset any settings etc etc! Is there any way of me rectifying this now??

Also i am using a Mac, but it used to work then stopped connecting without any changes to phone/computer. guessing its a ahrdware fault with the phone?

    Cheers,

    Ash

You don't say which email app/client you are using, and it is possible that it hasn't been updated to ICS, so check that first.
You may not expect to reset any settings when changing firmware (Gingerbread to ICS) but I'm afraid that in this case you may need to.
If updating the email clientis not the issue then carrying out a factory reset along with wipe cache can be carried out now from Recovery.
To get into recovery turn phone off and then press and hold volume up + menu + Power until recovery screen appears.
Select action by using volume up/down and carry out by pressing power.
WARNING: A factory reset will wipe your data so back-up. In ICS you can find Backup & Restore in the phone settings.

PS the factory reset may also resolve your USB connection problems.

Its the built in email app on the phone, its changed its appearance since the update but now no use to me! Ive got it linked up to a hotmail account if that makes a difference. I will try the factory reset later see if it helps!

    Thanks!
