    You don't need to backup/restore. You have already backed up so you export the file saved on your HD.

    You don't. Once it is a .CSV file you go to your Google account contacts and import it to your Google contacts. Your phone will sync with your Google account.....

    *.ecsv.bak
    *.spb
    *.sbu

    HELP!...

    You need the .spb file. Open it in Kies and export it as a .csv

    ...no export option in Kies...
    I've opened *.spb file (which isn't my current contacts, the sbu file is a bulk backup file photo, contacts etc) and all I can do is saveas...

    Have you got the latest version of Kies? I definately have import/export option on mine.... When you select "save as" what file extensions does it offer you?

    ICS upgrade does not disable Kies.... Did you do a factory reset? I can't check mine at moment as not on my PC but will check tomorrow if you've not got sorted by then.... You can go and search for Kies and check you have the latest version from Samsung website. Also try rebooting your PC see if phone will connect.
