With an unlocked phone you are going to have to install it yourself.
If in UK you can choose the ICS XEU that was released yesterday and install via Odin.

Video here on how to install via Odin, just ignore the download link and go here:

    Written instructions here:

NOTE: The XEU download is for STEP 3.

I flashed stock samsung firmware and then used SGS unlock to get rid of O2 rubbish and have my phone showing as an unlocked stock SGS II.
I was then offered ICS by Kies and really love it. You will find the stock firmware on samfirmware, make sure you use an open europe XEU one and flash it through Odin after a factory reset. You will then be offered the update through Kies.

I am finding the unbranded XEU ICS slower than the previous stock firmware.

I did the usual delete cache etc before and after the upgrade.

I find it so noticeable that I am considering reverting to the previous firmware.

Remote SIM access Protocol - Its the way bluetooth devices talk to each other. No idea about your parrott but the app is SGSII compatible so just use it if your phone won't connect...

Any flash of firmware will remove apps and data including Contacts, but not pictures.
    You have to backup first.
Apps that you have paid for will be waiting for you in Google Play, but unpaid apps you will have to source again.

You MUST have the drivers on your phone and have your phone with USB debugging ON and phone in download mode.
After flashing you will have a 'new' phone and have to reinstall Google account and wifi password

All understood apart from having the drivers on my phone?

    OK, no problem.
drivers are what your PC need to recognise the phone when attached.
Now you can do this via Kies, but if you're going down the Odin path (recommended) then you need to install the drivers on your PC from here:

Latest version of Kies is v2.3.0.12035_16_4 with driver v1.5.4.0 inside.

http://ul.to/xeczx9xt EDIT: Sorry that other link didn't work

Now, when you connect your phone it will be recognised and drivers installed.
Let it go through the whole process.

TIP: You can watch what's happening by going into (for XP) Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device manager

    That's it. Enjoy your phone.
Plenty of time to upgrade firmware (and some would say ICS is not an upgrade, as Gingerbread is pretty good and stable)
If you want to get hold of me, try clicking on my name and send a PM, and I'll do what I can to help when you're ready.
