Took me a while to get it running smoothly from GB. Some apps either don't work or crash (unless there are ICS updates available) and the battery was an issue until I completed the reset procedure. I get better signal coverage now and more wifi range so I would say it's worth it for that alone. Make sure you factory reset before and after flashing then run battery flat (until phone turns itself off) and recharge fully (with phone still off) to reset properly.

Don't think it'll make a difference, if anything some settings may get reset anyway. I would update and then sort out any problems.

Just updated here and noticed one significant difference. Before when I connected to Kies to update diary and contacts, it told me I had to turn bluetooth off before it would update. Now it lets me keep BT on.

If you have RSaP for in car telephone use, be advised, ICS does not support it.

Hence, I can't use my SGS2 in my Skoda any more.

Can someone advise me please - can I go back to GB?

If the app doesn't work you can go back to GB, but not via Kies.
You will need to get Odin ( a much better piece of software than Kies) and then find the version of Gingerbread that you had or want.
Give the app a try and then come back and let us know what you want to do.

Not techy in the slightest and very new to the S2.

I received it last wkd direct from Orange but paid to have it unlocked so I could switch to O2.

Am I waiting for an Orange update or unbranded? Kies isn't showing any so i'm a tad confused...

I'd bloody love to get rid of all the Orange bumf anyway if anyone can suggest a solution??
