Picked this up from another thread but possibly not immediately obvious what the deal is here. If face recognition floats your boat, it's here.
More importantly it's running VERY sweetly. Impressed up to now. Enjoy.

Just updated and i find it a lot faster, is there a c-f root for this firmware?
That update is great it now runs like the Galaxy S 2. Awesome update
Yup there is, here's the link: CFRoot JW4 @ XDA Forum
Blink detection used in face lock recognition to avoid phone's being unlocked with a photo.........
Just flashed JW4 and was pretty impressed from the start. Nice UI with arranging the icons and adding widgets. Overall performance seemed good, Quadrant gave around 1200 average.
Just tweaked to EXT4, though no noticeable difference so far. It's all about the battery life though.

Dead right - all about the battery usage - and there seems to be an issue on this release. Not terrible though and certainly worth putting up with because of overall performance gains.
Thanks for blink explanation re Face Recognition - I thought it was telling me not to blink but your explanation makes much more sense. I'd heard there was a problem initially in that a photo would allow access to the phone. Blinking obvious......(soz)
Keyboard loads more accurate too I reckon.
Cheers

So far I haven't been impressed with the battery usage, currently averaging a days use which is half what I was getting on JVU. I also have lag issues which are very noticeable. Although there are some nice additions like the updated UI and smoother scrolling (not that it matters if there's lag) but I'm really not happy with this firmware. I've rooted my phone and applied EXT4 tweak and am already considering going back to JVU. Going to check to see if any roms have been released using the JW4 kernels, come on Darky...fingers crossed.

Have now installed Darky 10.2 RE again and about to flash the 10.4.2 JW1 base. The REsurrection edition already incorporates the TW UI that JW4 uses but as always the phone is so responsive and it's always good to see the extended power menu![]()
Laggy for me too. Not impressed.
I gave my old galaxy s to a friend, flashed JW4 for her the other day and she has no complaints... She's not a techie though, so things like lag are probably less noticeable to her.
