    Legit Application, or Avoid like the plague

    Hi, want to add OS Monitor to my SGS2, but on the feedback/comments on the application there are 2/3 warnings about this application connecting to some dodgy German servers and stealing details????
    Surely, Google would block people peddling dodgy applications via there shop? Wouldn't they? Hmmm, Opinions and advice on this issue please?
    Cheers;

    There are dodgy apps around - you have been warned! It will probably be removed soon, Google cant monitor them all quickly enough.

    Ok, is there anything else thats free that does a similar job to OS Monitor? Also, haas anybody thought about compiling a list of "Dodgy" applications? And can someone point me to a list of must have apps for the SGS2 (Unrooted User) Not confident enough yet to even think about doing this....

    Surprised that you say you're not confident enough to root (which is easy) and yet you are considering OS Monitor, which I reckon gives far more detail than the average user needs and is largely available through existing phone features.
    Is there some part of OS Monitor that is of particular interest, as you may already have the feature installed.

    Hi, I am probably a not scared, but wary of rooting as the phone is only 4 months old, and should I develop a serious problem, after rooting, the warranty would be invalid, having said that, what would my warranty get me now if a serious non-owner initiated problem occured?

    I want to achieve a better battery life, and do not follow some of the bult in monitors, they seem a little sketchy to me. I was thinking along the lines of a multi monitor type app with all significant services/power users in one place..
    Also, is there a section on teaching android rooting?

    If battery life is an issue for you I can thoroughly recommend getting a 2000Ah genuine Samsung battery.
    It's slightly thicker than the standard, and so comes with a modified back, but it actually makes the phone look better as the back become flush rather than having the 'bump' at the bottom.
    Got mine from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FYHRY8

    Regarding rooting head over to Chainfire's site on XDA.
    Looks a bit ominous at first, but a necessary read as this is the guy who provides the root files.
    Once you've rooted the phone you can make future updates with root easier by downloading CF's Mobile Odin - but too much information to start with eh??

    Thanks for the warning - would it be beneficial to have an Antivirus app installed? Would it at least warn of redirection to dodgy websites?
