updating

Hi all
I am a newbie and I woul'd like to ask why I can't update my galaxy s2?
It just keeps saying connecting to server and connection failed.
Pleeeeease help.

I am going to check for updates on my phone and thats where it says

I take it you mean when updating from the OTA function on the phone? (Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Update)

Some networks provide OTA update function but some networks don't. If you cannot update software using OTA then you will have to check using Kies.
Type in Google 'Samsung Kies' and then downlaod the software.

Yup, in all isntances as far as I am aware. If you are able to use the OTA function then you will need to create an account with Samsung, effectively registering your product. You then use the login details registered with Samsung to access the OTA function.

Thanks for your replies, Iv'e opened account and tried to update again with
>settings>about phone>software update>update. it is still saying connecting to server
and then connection failed.
I have also tried kies which did not work.
Anymore suggestions guys?
