Other users have reported the 3UK ICS release to be slow and laggy. Your only option around this is to flash XWLP3 yourself which will debrand your phone but also void your warranty. I'm with O2 and their release of ICS has ruined the phone from a functionality point of view (sync constantly fails and toggling wifi locks the phone up) so my only options are the same as yours.....

I have not had an issue with the wifi toggle on my 02 branded one. I have noticed it will lock up sometimes and reboot's its self (kinda of odd) but in all fairness i was screwing around with some root tools.

Locking up is a symptom of not clearing data/factory reset and clearing cache and ideally Dalvik Cache, when coming from Gingerbread.
Try a factory reset to see if that clears it.

That would mean doing a backup and what not of everything! Wish titanium backup would work on non rooted.

In ICS you have Backup & Reset in Settings. Back up to Google servers and then restore.

hi guys, i've been checking kies and i cannot update to ics. it is telling me i am already up to date.
i have PDA:KI4/PHONE:KI1/CSC:KH1 (CPW).
i am on o2, got my phone from carphone warehouse, have been reading i will have to wait for an 'unbranded' version of ics??
is this true?, any suggestions? cheers.

CPW have said they do not provide a modified ROM and that updates will come from Samsung - so yes you're waiting for Open UK XEU update.
Why an unmodified ICS ROM is taking longer to release than a network adapted one is a question only Samsung can answer.
In the meantime the nearest one for you is the Polish LPQ.
I'm using it and can confirm it's working well - installed via Odin.

According to the "Bot" I spoke to at O2 Customer dis-service, network providers are contracted to have the updates before the official "open" ones. Hence you will be waiting for Samsung until thay have rolled out all the network updates...

Any news on the rooting of the 02 firmware?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the most up to date official Gingerbread firmware (2.3.6?). I'm on 3UK and my current kernel ends LPQ (on ICS).
