changing ringtone for contact

Hi, I went to change my ringtone for some of my contacts, I went to contacts found the person, went into menu, edit and there is no ringtone in the edit list any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Is the contact perchance stored on your SIM?

If so then options will be limited. I advise storing contacts on your phone or, better still, moving all contacts to your Google account. Benefits are that you don't lose them if something happens to your phone and you can access them from any PC when logging in to Google.

If they are not on your SIM then we'll try and think of some other reason.

thanks, I got to playing with it after I posted and found out they are on my sim, will transfer them. Hopefully this will help others darn newbs lol. Thanks again
