    no sound for incoming calls

My wifes Galaxy s has worked fine for 12 mnths until yesterday. she had missed a number of calls because there was no ringtone. i have checked volume settings, all normal. Also no sound on games. Has anyone experienced this problem.

Have you checked to see if the phone has been put on silent, pull the notification bar down to see.

Ok, but have you pulled the notification bar down from the home screen or you could try pressing the power key, you get several options, one is to put the phone into silent mode.

RichardJ is telling you that all though you have checked the volume settings if the phone is on silent then no sound will come out anyway.

Secondly, although you mention that there is no sound on games or alerts does the music player play out loud or does the video player have sound?

Failing that, if there's no sound, it's probably a send away for repair.

The sound went on my galaxy s but had been sounding distorted for a while first.

You could try doing a wipe data/factory reset to see if that sorts it out, if it doesn't then contact Samsung and arrange for a repair.

Since a week or 2, I have the same problem.
When somebody is calling, I hear nothing. When Ianswer the phone, I can't hear anything.
Then when I open an MP3 or ringtone the MP3 player is freezing.
Only after a reboot everything is functioning again.

Looks like I have the same problem

Did you already hear something more from Samsung about this issue?

    Kind regards,

    Murdockske
