contacts profile pics do not appear in message conversation threads

hey,
im new to this forum and just got a samsung galaxy sII yesterday after updating from a htc incredible s..(which i found to be incredibily s**t). so far the samsung seems to be a nice phone. easy to use and very fast. theres only one thing thats causing me a bit of frustration, and thats that i cant seem to make my contacts appear with their profil pics in my message inbox next to their conversation threads. they all appear with the default silhouette. i've synced my facebook contacts with my phone contacts and done it both through the facebook app and the social hubb app. my background data and auto sync are activated aswell. i've tried using an app called syncmypix and that didn't work either. when a contact calls me their picture comes up, but im my messages their pics dont appear. i just got off the phone with a samsung representative and they told me i had to merge my contacts with my google account. so i did but this still didnt work, and then they told me its probably a problem with my network provider, which i think was just an attempt by them to get rid of me cause they dont know how to help me. if anyone has a solution to this problem for me and could share it would be much appreciated.

First thing to try is make sure you've a contact thats stored on the phone and not the SIM as you can only have pics for phone stored contacts.

I don't have a solution as I don't have that problem. What version of firmware are you running - Is it upto date via Keis?

my firmware is 2.3.6, tried looking all over the place for a way to fix this and can't find a solution anywhere..but a lot of ppl seem to have the same problem.

I am running Gingerbread 2.3.4 and mine is working fine. Save to phone and hit the + sign on the photo silhouette and you will be asked to add photo from album or take a photo. Simple as that.

i figured out the problem and thought id post up the solution just incase people are having the same problem.

so basically, if your Facebook contacts have been synced with your phone contacts, their profile pics should appear on your phone when being called or in your msg inbox..but the problem is the pics weren't showing up for my contacts in my msges..

SOLUTION:
make sure you havnt doubled up on your contacts..so only save one copy of each contact to your phone and not your sim card...make sure you go to contacts>settings>display options, and make sure your sim and phone contacts are visible..then delete all your sim contacts making sure you've copied them onto your phone first...after this your contact pics will appear everywhere.
