    Galaxy s always crashes

Does anyone else have continual problems with thier phone, mines always crashing when I open apps, usually I then have to shut down and it takes about 10 minutes to reboot. Im very dissapointed with my experience and would never touch a Samsung phone again. Also very poor internet reception, impossible to go online

I wouldn't say you're the only one and in the bigger schemes of thing Samsung have sold millions of SGS 1's and I reckon the people who have continual problems are in the hundreds. Also are you looking for help or just having a moan? If you want to resolve any issues then just ask.

Firstly I would suggest updating firmware, this will help resolve most issues with the phone. The phone shouldn't crash everytime you open an app as it wasn't designed/programmed to that.

Secondly which model phone do you have?

Understand I'm not having a go at you but you haven't actaully given any information in the post, so trying to offer advice is kind of hard.

Edit: Samsung phones having problems isn't news either

I was just venting my frustrations after another episode of shutting down taking out the battery and rebooting. Was just curious as to others experiences. Im over the phone and am just gonna pay the $150 to get out of the contract and get an iphone like all the sheep as everyone I know swears by them and never have issues.
Which leads me to another question. Here in Australia Samsung has recently won the court battle against apple to release the tablet here, yet the prices are much the same so Im at a loss as what Samsung is trying to achieve, cause I'll never go with them again and I'm gonna make it my business to let everyone know what rubbish they are

    Well, I'm ok

I've had my Galaxy S for 18 months now and have been a very happy user, although more so since I installed GingerBread 2.3.5 and above.

I have a native version installed now and have rooted. Check out Android Advices for options and guidance although there are other sites as well.

I never have crashes and if you're on this site you can sort it out for yourself.

Alternatively, visit a Samsung service centre and get them to do it for you.

    Tim

    mind you

Btw, if you're just a moaning, iPhone lover trying to cause unrest in our camp, well, just bugger off then.

If you're not a sheep, and want to control your own life rather than have Apple tell you what to do, and when, even though you've paid hard cash to own your product, get on with sorting out your problems, there's plenty of help to be had. And fun at that

Given your lack of details I recon you're a sheep! :-)

    Pay up and be dominated.

Phones crashing is usually down to problems with the firmware, and often a factory reset will sort it out, OR shortage of memory. Try to maintain a tidy phone by doing a bit of Spring Cleaning - clearing out old messages, browser searches and cache.
Easiest way is to download an application like HistoryEraser.
The other thing is to move apps to sd card, along with pics and videos.

Jeff, I've had my Galaxy S for 2 years in July. In the beginning it was a huge disappointment - kept freezing, poor battery life, really slow etc - and I wanted rid of it. Now though, after various firmware updates, I'm so glad I didn't swap it for an iPhone. My wife has the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and there are so many things Apple block you from doing, plus the insistance of using iTunes to do anything. Not to mention the nobbled bluetooth.
Try backing up your contacts, photos etc to Kies, then do a factory reset and see if Kies offers you a firmware upgrade to 2.3.6. 2.3.6 runs fine on my phone. If your network doesn't offer you 2.3.6 then pop back here and ask about updating it yourself to a non-network version.
My contract is up in July and I'll be staying with Samsung - probably the Note. Samsung Allshare is brilliant for streaming video to your tv or laptop and I have managed to overcome the gps issues by using an external bluetooth receiver (something else you can't do with an iPhone).
