Switched from BB a few weeks ago and enjoying the S II. Use for business including trips abroad, but although I need e-mail facility while travelling outside the UK, I generally do not require an internet facility on the phone as I get on-line in hotel.

How can I avoid excessive roaming charges and use just e-mail facility cheaply? Specifically, on recent trips to Holland I was charged £17 and £23 on two seperate days and this was just for e-mail data -

Blackberry used to cost much less than £1 per day when travelling.
