    marketplace downloads

i have seen threads on the android site a while ago, but not so much recently.

I just got my galaxy S today, and am frustrated

I am trying to download android apps from the marketplace, (both paid and free), but nothing is happening. I am getting 'starting download' for about 3 hours now.

I have cleared the cache and restarted a couple of times.

is this a general android problem, and is there anything i can try ??

    thanks

Did you clear both Market and Download Manager caches?
Is the problem appear on both Mobile Network and Wifi? Could it be a connection problems?
Are you using stock firmware? If not which version you are using?

I do get download unsuccessful now and then, but mostly is because of the network connection problems, either the area I am in have bad signal (try again on different area) or my wireless router crashed (restart router normally works).

    Hope this help

So you have no connection problems, you have not flashed to any new firmware and you have clear all the caches. Is this happen to all the apps? Have you restarted the phone after clear the caches?

Sorry when I say "download other apps", I meant download it from Android Market. Just want to make sure that it is not the only app that has problem downloading.

    Update.

Whilst out and about today, one app downloaded ok, (over 3g), google maps started to download too.

Now I got back home and the rest are downloading via wifi.

looks like problem has been resolved.

    A mystery !
