Question around the 3G type icons. The manual lists two icons I have seen - a simple "G" with up/down arrows and "3G" with the arrows. It says one is GPRS and the other UMTS. For the uneducated like me, what's the difference please?
Also, whilst in a city centre today, I noticed that the "G" changed to an "H". Can't find that in the manual though. Any theories?
The G is for normal mobile internet, 2G edge, fairly slow but OK for emails and the odd bit of browsing. 3G is a faster internet speed making browsing and downloading faster.
H is for HSDPA which is a faster data transfer, can be faster than a lot of peoples home internet.
